Microneedling in Houston, TX
Improve Skin Texture for a Smoother, More Toned Appearance
How Microneedling Works
Microneedling is typically done in 4-6 sessions, about a month apart. Your skin must be clear before the procedure to avoid causing an infection or excessive inflammation.
With each session the skin becomes thicker and more tolerant, allowing the technician to insert the needles deeper into the skin. Microneedling essentially causes hundreds of tiny wounds, which forces the body to generate new collagen and elastin—the proteins that make skin firm and taut.
The technician will also apply a collagen-enhancing serum after each procedure.
Microneedling Treatment
The technician will numb your skin, and the procedure usually takes 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of the procedure area. The numbing cream will help minimize discomfort during the procedure.
You’ll have redness and some swelling for 1-2 days after the treatment, but it typically starts to fade significantly within a few hours. Your skin will peel after 3-5 days, which is normal. You’ll need to follow a microneedling skin care regimen after the procedure, which the treatment team will explain in detail.
